Ffembi (Luganda for "Together") - is a living graph of Uganda's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem — founders, mentors, funders, hubs, and programs, mapped from real relationships instead of guesswork.
The problem
"Only entrepreneurship can create opportunity where none seemingly exists."
Most of the support founders need already exists — it's just scattered across WhatsApp groups, outdated PDFs, and private networks that never touch each other. Founders who need help most rarely find the people who can give it, and funders miss good deals because they only ever see the same small, visible cohort.
Worse, ecosystems are supposed to learn, and this one keeps forgetting. Programs end and their lessons leave with the staff who ran them; founders repeat the same pitch to disconnected funders because nothing about their journey persists anywhere shared. We call this the ecosystem memory problem, and it's the whole reason Ffembi exists.
Most support is also one-size-fits-all — the same curriculum, the same criteria, the same definition of a "good" founder, applied everywhere regardless of sector, stage, or context. Too much of it rests on assumptions about the ecosystem instead of an actual read of it. Ffembi exists to replace those assumptions with a real, sourced picture of who's here and how they connect — and to help the support built on top of it actually fit.

Every founder, mentor, investor, hub, event, and program — and how they actually connect. Not a directory. A map.
Intelligence
Patterns a flat list can't show: who's over-funded, who's under-mentored, where the real gaps are.
Matching
"Who's there" becomes "who you should talk to" — connections grounded in real ecosystem data.
A few terms
Node
Any single tracked entity in the graph — a person, organization, event, program, resource, or location.
Edge
A directed relationship between two nodes, like "mentored" or "invested in." This is where the actual value lives — a list of nodes with no edges is just a directory again.
Ecosystem memory
The knowledge of who did what, who trusts whom, and what's already been tried — normally scattered across inboxes and WhatsApp groups, and lost the moment someone changes roles. Ffembi exists to keep it.
Claiming
When the person or organization behind a node takes it over and keeps it current themselves — shifting from "we maintain this about you" to "you maintain this."
How it's built
Sourced, not guessed
Every connection in the graph traces back to something verifiable — a funding announcement, a program roster, a news article.
Built for how Uganda works
Not a Silicon Valley template. The ecosystem runs on trust and word-of-mouth, so the graph and tools are built around that, not against it.
Gets stronger with use
Not a directory that goes stale. Every node added, source verified, or profile claimed makes it more useful for everyone after.
